1. What was your previous degree? BS Nutritional Sciences
2. Where did you do your undergraduate degree? Texas A&M University
3. Why did you choose Texas A&M University? I originally chose to come to Texas A&M because I felt it was a good fit for my personality, values, and major.
4. Why did you choose to major in Nutrition? When deciding on a major, I wanted to pick something challenging and enjoyable. I have always loved studying science and health, so I decided that nutrition would be a great fit.
5. Do you like living in College Station, TX? What is the best thing about living here? I really enjoy living in College Station! I'm not much of a country girl or a big city girl, so College Station is just the right size for me. We are close enough to the big cities to get away for the weekend or visit friends and family, but far enough away so that we don't feel like we're living in a concrete jungle. The best thing about living here is the people. I have made some of the best friends of my life here and have found an awesome church family to grow in and be a part of.
6. Who is your major professor? Dr. Alex McIntosh
7. What research are you doing? I will be researching the food safety practices of limited resource audiences. I will design, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of a food safety education program based on Fight Bac! principles. 8. What advice would you give to a student who is thinking about coming to Texas A&M? I would tell them the best thing to learn is time management. I don't think the people who excel in college are necessarily the smartest, but the ones who work hard and manage their time well. I would advise students to pick a few things to be involved in here and do them well! Don't spread your self too thin or do things half-heartedly.
