Human Nutrition Conference Planning Committee:
The Texas Human Nutrition Conference has been held each year since 1973 and
seeks to provide continuing education in timely nutritional topics to Texans.
Attendees include undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff from
Texas A&M University as well as surrounding colleges and universities. Many
health professionals are served by the conference as several hundred registered
dietitians and county Extension specialists attend and disseminate nutrition
information throughout Texas. Thus, the conference impacts several different
aspects of the basic research and the translation of basic science into the
practice of nutrition, dietetics and food science in Texas. Speakers are encouraged
to emphasize the application and potential impact of their work within the
practice of nutrition, public health, policy and food product availability
as appropriate.
Conference Theme:
"Slippery Slope to Health: Adding Good Fat Back to the Diet"
