The
33rd Annual Texas Human Nutrition Conference has been designed to help the nutrition
professional and others involved in health communications be more effective
communicators and marketers of their messages. Faculty members in communications
and marketing will focus on principles within their disciplines while the role
of carbohydrates and fats in the diet will be discussed by members of the Dietary
Guidelines Advisory Committee for the 2005 Dietary Guidelines. Nutrition messages
originating from the food industry and from members of the dietetic profession
will be discussed by a former executive in a major food company and the current
President of the American Dietetic Association, respectively.
