Admission Requirements:
Students admitted to the Ph.D. Program in Nutrition are expected to have a GRE score of at least 1000 with a minimum of 400 on both the quantitative and verbal sections and a minimum GPR of 3.0 for the last 60 hours of class study. Students admitted into the graduate program have typically had a GRE score over 1180 and a GPR over 3.50. An applicant whose academic record is not satisfactory or who is changing fields of study may be required to take additional course work in preparation for graduate study. Competency in the following undergraduate courses is strongly encouraged: biochemistry, genetics, physiology, biology and/or microbiology, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and statistics.

Note: Faculty members in your major discipline, e.g. Nutrition, Biochemistry, Biology, and/or Food Science, and/or a supervisor from a recent work experience should complete the recommendation forms. The completed forms (original signatures on all are required) should be sent in sealed envelopes with the signature of the individual completing the form across the back of the envelope.
